Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and the control you have.
Last updated: Oct 27, 2026
What we collect
Account details (email, password hash), the profile information you choose to add (photos, text, preferences, optional birth details), your activity on the service (likes, matches, messages, profile views), and technical data (IP address, browser, approximate country) for security and abuse prevention.
How we use it
To run the service: show your profile according to your settings, suggest compatible people, deliver messages and notifications, calculate your birth chart, keep the community safe and improve Datepedia. We do not sell your personal data.
Who can see your information
With “Everyone”, your profile (not your email, exact location or birth details) can be seen by visitors and search engines. With “Members only”, only signed-in members can see it. “Hidden” pauses your profile. Messages are visible only to their participants and, if reported, to our moderators.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to operate the service, such as hosting, email delivery (SparkPost), geocoding (OpenStreetMap Nominatim) and, if you request a written astrology reading, an AI provider that processes your chart placements (not your name or contact details).
Your rights
You can view and edit your data at any time, download a copy in Settings → Your data, and delete your account permanently. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights (e.g. under the GDPR); contact palmies@pm.me to exercise them.
Retention
When you delete your account we remove your profile, photos, likes and matches immediately. Limited records may be kept where required for security, fraud prevention or legal obligations.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your language, and Statcounter to count visits anonymously. We do not use advertising cookies.
